      <![CDATA[<p>Ephemera began on January 1, 2004, with a photo of <a href="http://www.ephemera.org/archives/1.html">Heather's engagement ring</a> and a simple plan to share a photo a day. And I did that for just about <a href="http://ephemera.org/archives/">three years</a>. </p>

<p>Along the way, I had some great experiences. I rediscovered my love of photography. I wound up publishing photos in a bunch of books, magazines, and newspapers. Running this site reconnected me with a community of photographers I'd long missed.</p>

<p>But life is a little different now. I've been too busy with <a href="http://8020publishing.com/">starting a company</a> and <a href="http://jpgmag.com/">running a magazine</a> to update here for the last few months, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. </p>

<p>So I think this is the end of Ephemera. Thanks so much for coming along for the ride. I'm still shooting, when there's time.
