The "Muni Shoot-in" went off without a hitch. Organized by Jackson at SFist, the idea was to just get a bunch of photographers together to take photos in Muni stations to see what happened. And what happened was the same thing that's happened every other time I've shot photos in Muni stations: Nothing.

Is there a ban or not? The letter from Muni Executive Director Michael Burns is almost painful in its avoidance. It doesn't say there's a ban on photography by individuals (ie not press), but then again, it doesn't say there's not.

There's not much left to do except assume the best - that the San Francisco municipal agencies know that there's nothing to fear from a photographer on a train - until some sad crazed rentacop proves otherwise.
