View them all in the Ephemera Archive » I remember not wanting to use the word "daily" anywhere on this site when I started it a year ago. After all, 365 photos is a lot to expect. And now here I am at the end of year one with a grand total of 543. Not bad. And what a year it's been. I started the year by asking Heather to marry me, and started the site with a photo of her engagement ring. February brought the historic same-sex weddings in San Francisco, and the tragic death of our cherished dog Tigger. In March we got Mister Bugsley Dante and witnessed many protests. April was Easter in the park and the beginning of my obsession with photographing dogs. I turned 31 in May and had my first gallery show in years. June was the Pride Parade. In July Heather and I were married, and I spent August posting photos from our honeymoon in Paris. September brought more dog photos and a candlelight vigil. October was halloween and Litquake. November brought a marriage or two and lots of art. December was Chanukah and some of my favorite dog photos yet. It's been one hell of a year - some of the highest highs (I love you, Heather) and lowest lows (I miss you, Tigger), sometimes the day after each other. I don't know what to expect from 2005, but I do know this: I'm no longer worried about using the word "daily" on this site. As a thank-you for coming on this ride with me, here's a special Ephemera Year One desktop wallpaper (1MB ZIP Download). Happy new year! |
