It's my pleasure to participate in the Virtual Book Tour today. This tour is all about Jennifer Traig and her true story of growing up obsessive and Jewish, Devil in the Details: Scenes From an Obsessive Girlhood. It's a fantastic book - definitely pick it up if you, like me, grew up Jewish and a little, well, different.

I got to meet Jenny last week (not knowing I'd photographed her previously). We sat in her very green living room and I made her recreate the cover of her book, lining up M&M's into same-color rows. She politely complied, but, of course, the best photo is the one that doesn't show that at all. Still, it was nice to give a subject something to do besides stare at the camera uncomfortably, and the conversation was fascinating.

Jenny said that most photos of her come out looking like a stoned man, so here's hoping this one's an exception to the rule.
