Arc de Triomphe at sunset, from the middle of Champs-Elysées, Paris.

One of the interesting things about dating, and now being married to, a fellow photographer is that you get to see them work. My honeymoon with Heather was one big photo safari.

Most of the time, we see the world in different ways. Heather goes in for the close-up stuff, I tend to look for moments of serendipity. But I know that, being with her, I've learned from watching her work. She has an amazingly beautiful way of seeing the world. And she's teaching me to observe things differently. This photo, for example, is a lascivious imitation of Heather's many mannequin shots. When I shot it I was thinking, This is a Heather Champ photo.

Sometimes we overlap in the heat of the moment. Heather's back wound up in many of my shots, and I found out later that I stepped in front of her to catch this shot. Sorry, hon!

And then sometimes we just see beauty in the same place at the same time. As we were walking down the Champs-Elysées, I turned without a word and walked out into the middle of the street to take this photo. And I knew I wouldn't have to explain why. When I was done shooting, I took my camera down and there was Heather, right beside me, clicking away.

That's love, baby.
