I have to say, New York City is a Lomo kinda town. Most days I walked around with four cameras: a Holga, a Lomo-LCA, my bigass Canon Digital Rebel XT, and the tiny cam on my phone. The tape melted off of the Holga, the Canon was just too huge and noticable, and the phone, let's face it, is crap. The Lomo was the clear winner. It's small and discreet. Quiet. You can set the focal length and just shoot from the hip. So that's what I did for five days in the muggy heat. I'm now sorting through all the scans from the rolls I shot, and loving every grainy spontaneous bit. Here's the first. More soon. |
